Sonar Blox works on the principle of ultrasound based echolocation sending out sound waves in KHz range that then reflect off objects and are received in the receiver.
The distance is computed based on the time it takes for the emitted wave to reach the receiver, and you get a digital output signal. It also has a knob to preset the distance value that you want a response at.
